About The Position

Zeta is launching its first-ever High School class of 9th graders in the 2026-27 school year, located at 1080 St. Nicholas Avenue in Upper Manhattan. This milestone marks the next chapter in Zeta's mission to provide world-class education from pre-kindergarten through high school. Zeta currently operates multiple elementary and middle schools across the Bronx, Upper Manhattan, and Queens, and plans to open 1-2 new schools each year. The school is searching for New York State certified School Psychologists with a Master's degree or a Ph.D. in School Psychology, and a proven record of successfully supporting students in crisis and propelling student growth and achievement.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted thought leader within the school community, partnering with school leaders, counselors, teachers, and families to implement high-quality student support systems and social-emotional learning (SEL).
  • Lead and monitor individualized student growth for students who need targeted support in emotion regulation, social perspective-taking, problem-solving, and self-control—collaborating closely with school leadership, network experts, and external consultants.
  • Design and support the implementation of effective SEL programming, coaching teachers on strong execution and ensuring consistent, school-wide alignment with Zeta’s SEL framework.
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with students and families, and support school-wide efforts to ensure students demonstrate Zeta’s EPIC values—Excellence, Perseverance, Integrity, and Community.
  • Collaborate closely with the Student Achievement Team and the Committee on Special Education (CSE) to identify, evaluate, and support students with disabilities and diverse learning needs.
  • Play an integral role on the Response to Intervention (RtI) Team, using data to design, implement, and refine tiered academic, behavioral, and social-emotional supports.
  • Conduct comprehensive monolingual psycho-educational assessments, ensuring timely, accurate evaluations that inform effective, individualized supports and services.
  • Partner regularly with fellow school psychologists and network staff, consulting on complex cases, sharing best practices, and engaging in ongoing professional learning focused on SEL and student support.
