About The Position

Community Workforce Solutions is seeking a High School Pre-Employment Transition Instructor to work with students with disabilities in the Topsail area and surrounding communities in Sampson County. As part of the Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS) program, the instructor leads lessons that help students explore career opportunities and develop workplace skills while preparing for greater independence after high school. The position is 10 months and scheduled for 32–40 hours per week, based on position needs. The instructor travels between assigned school sites in Sampson County and reports to the Onslow County office 1–2 times per week.

Requirements

• Experience teaching or working with students with disabilities.
• Strong communication and classroom management skills.
• Ability to adapt instruction for different learning needs.
• Valid North Carolina driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• Ability to travel between school sites and the Sampson County office.
• Ability to complete a background check and drug screening.
• Ability to lift 10–25 pounds.
• Ability to sit, stand, and move throughout the day.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Rehabilitation, or a related field; equivalent experience is considered.
