About The Position

This person serves the body of Christ at FAC by facilitating the discipleship of high school students, both those who already attend FAC and those who are currently unreached. The Ministry Goal is to move students up toward God in worship, in toward each other in discipleship, and out toward our world in mission.

Requirements

  • Facilitating the discipleship of high school students
  • Moving students up toward God in worship, in toward each other in discipleship, and out toward our world in mission
  • Leadership of Sunday High School Gathering
  • Overseeing youth worship teams
  • Crafting sermon series
  • Preaching at Midweek Gatherings
  • Leadership of Wednesday Small Group leaders
  • Supporting and resourcing Small Group leaders
  • Providing training for Small Group leaders
  • Leadership of special events (retreats, outings, game nights, etc.)
  • Working with small group leaders and parents for special events
  • Engaging in the life of students outside formal church ministry
  • Resourcing parents for student training and equipping
  • Providing opportunities for outreach to unchurched students
  • Identifying direction for ministry development
  • Participating in strategic planning
  • Identifying personal development opportunities
  • Creating and managing the youth ministry budget
  • Creating and managing the youth ministry calendar
  • Updating attendance numbers and student records
  • Acting as an ambassador for FAC vision, mission, and values
  • Embodying Staff Commitments
  • Attending weekly staff meetings
  • Submitting Engage and Annual reports
  • Participating in staff activities
  • Contributing to staff spiritual formation

Responsibilities

  • Give primary leadership to Sunday High School Gathering
  • Oversee youth worship and those who are leading those teams
  • Craft sermon series that fit into and touch on all of FAC’s core values
  • Be the primary preaching voice at Midweek Gatherings
  • Give primary leadership to Wednesday Small Group leaders
  • Support and resource Small Group leaders
  • Provide training for Small Group leaders
  • Give primary leadership to special events (retreats, outings, game nights, etc.)
  • Work with small group leaders and parents to help facilitate special events
  • Remain actively engaged in the life of students outside formal church ministry and settings.
  • Resource parents to effectively train and equip their students.
  • Provide opportunities to reach out to unchurched students.
  • Identify direction for ministry development
  • Participate in strategic planning process
  • Identify opportunities for personal development, present these to the supervisor for consideration and approval.
  • Create and manage the youth ministry budget
  • Create and manage the youth ministry calendar
  • Regularly update attendance numbers and student records
  • Be an ambassador for FAC vision, mission, and values
  • Embody our Staff Commitments
  • Attend weekly staff meetings
  • Provide Engage and Annual report submissions
  • Participate in staff activities (training, outings, celebrations, etc.)
  • Contribute to staff spiritual formation with prayer and leading devotions
