About The Position

Mechanicsburg Brethren in Christ Church (McBIC) is seeking a full-time high school youth pastor to continue its tradition of depth, fun, vulnerability, and safety within its high school ministry of approximately 50 students. The pastor will work closely with the middle school youth pastor to provide discipleship to adolescents and lead a robust adult volunteer team. The congregation is invested in developing its teenagers, often seeing them in leadership roles. The new pastor will join a thriving staff and contribute to McBIC's mission of being a place of healing and wholeness in Mechanicsburg, valuing community partnerships.

Requirements

• Abiding in Jesus through prayer, Scripture reading, and Christian community
• Clear passion for discipling high school students
• Youth ministry experience (staff, volunteer, or intern)
• Strong one-on-one relational skills, especially in pastoral care and counseling
• Experience leading a team and communicating vision
• Public speaking and communication abilities, especially in preaching and teaching
• Teachable spirit and commitment to professional growth and development
• Self-starter who takes initiative and manages responsibilities

Responsibilities

• Oversee pastoral care and programming for high school students
• Develop and communicate vision for high school youth ministry
• Provide leadership development for adult volunteers and teens
• Facilitate discipleship opportunities for high school students
• Communicate regularly and effectively with high school students and families
• Collaborate well with pastoral staff and volunteer leaders
• Connect with McBIC’s congregation in preaching, prayer, and relationship
• Embrace McBIC’s mission and philosophy of ministry
• Manage administrative tasks associated with the role
