About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic High School Intervention Paraprofessional to join our team and support students in need of academic intervention across various subjects. The ideal candidate will work closely with the classroom teacher and other support staff to provide individualized and small-group support to students who require additional help in areas such as literacy, math, and social skills. A key aspect of this role is the ability to assist with implementing intervention strategies, monitor student progress, and encourage positive academic behaviors. We are looking for candidates who are experienced with or open to learning and using technology to enhance their support and the learning experiences of students.

Requirements

Associate's degree or a passing score on the Louisiana Paraprofessional Assessment.
Ability to work well with students, teachers, and other staff in a team-oriented environment.
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Experience with or willingness to learn and integrate technology tools into the intervention process (e.g., digital platforms, educational apps, or virtual learning resources).
Patience, flexibility, and a positive attitude toward working with students of various ability levels.
Strong communication skills and the ability to provide constructive feedback to students and collaborate with teachers.

Nice To Haves

Experience working with elementary-aged students in a support role.
Familiarity with digital learning platforms (e.g., Google Classroom, Seesaw, or other educational tools).
Experience using educational technology in a classroom or intervention setting (e.g., interactive whiteboards, learning apps, and games).
Willingness to learn new technologies and tools to support student learning and engagement.
Knowledge of basic intervention strategies and techniques for supporting struggling students.

Responsibilities

Assist the classroom teacher in providing targeted intervention services to High School students who need additional support in areas such as reading, math, and study skills.
Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce and support learning in core subject areas.
Monitor student progress, provide feedback, and communicate observations to the teacher to inform instructional adjustments.
Implement intervention strategies and activities as outlined by the teacher, using materials and resources designed to address students' specific academic needs.
Assist in creating and maintaining a positive and engaging learning environment that fosters student growth and confidence.
Utilize technology tools and digital resources to support intervention activities (e.g., educational apps, learning management systems, and online platforms).
Provide students with hands-on support, helping them complete assignments, practice skills, and understand instructions.
Encourage positive academic behaviors, self-regulation, and social skills through guided interactions and proactive support.
Support the teacher in tracking and documenting student progress, maintaining accurate records of activities and student performance.
Participate in meetings and collaborate with other educators and support staff to discuss student needs and progress.
Communicate regularly with students, offering encouragement and clarification on tasks and assignments.
Be open to learning and using new technology tools and applications to improve student engagement and support interventions.
