About The Position

Horizon Project, Inc. is seeking a motivated and dependable STEP Center & Office Intern to support its STEP Center for Independent Living in Pendleton, Oregon. The STEP Center provides hands-on and interactive support to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The intern will interact with adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in supervised group settings but will not provide direct care to clients. This is a part-time position with a schedule during STEP Center operating hours, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Pay is $16 per hour.

Requirements

• Must be able to reliably get to work on time.
• Must pass an Oregon Criminal Background Check by ODHS.
• Must pass a drug test.
• Must be under the age of 18.
• Must be able to communicate in English.
• Positive attitude.
• Strong work ethic.
• Willingness to listen and learn.
• Creative thinking, especially for planning activities.
• Ability to remain calm in a chaotic environment.
• Basic computer skills, including typing, email, internet search, printing, and copying.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning STEP Center activities, projects, and outings.
• Provide administrative support as needed, including making copies and filing.
• Complete assigned tasks accurately and on time.
• Maintain confidentiality and professional communication.
• Work cooperatively with staff, clients, and the public.
• Follow safety procedures and organizational policies.
