About The Position

This is an entry-level position designed to mentor and teach the basics of diesel mechanics, providing students with experience in a shop environment. The role requires the ability to perform light maintenance and repairs, including lube, oil, and filter changes, tire balancing and rotation, and cooling system flushes.

Requirements

Currently enrolled in Senior year of High school
Must have a valid Driver License
Must have the ability to work while maintaining mandatory school schedule
Must be able to obtain a work permit from the school board.

Responsibilities

Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
Assist other Service Technicians in heavy-duty truck repair.
Attend training sessions to gain knowledge and experience.
Maintain a neat and orderly work area.
Neatly record job summary for all assigned repairs.
Participate in required educational training as assigned by Service Manager.
Complete required trainings in designated timeframe.
Communicates with parts department to obtain needed parts.
Saves and tags parts of the job if under warranty or if requested by the customer.
Documents all work performed on the repair order.
Keeps abreast of machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor.
Maintains and is accountable for all dealership-owned tools and manuals.
Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner.
Attends company trainings as required.
Maintains and cleans vehicles and surrounding shop area.
Other duties as assigned.
