About The Position

Pratt & Whitney is seeking a high school intern to join its Columbus Engine Center team in Columbus, Georgia. The intern will be mentored by Engine Center Supervisors and will assist with engine disassembly and assembly, cleaning engine parts and components, and visual checks of parts where applicable. The role also provides exposure to basic inspection techniques as part of a career development path. This is an onsite, FAA safety-sensitive position. Applicants must be enrolled in high school and in a certified manufacturing or machining program at Columbus Technical School or a local area high school machining or vocational training program.

Requirements

Currently enrolled in high school.
Enrolled in a certified manufacturing or machining program at Columbus Technical School, or a local area high school machining or vocational training program.
Must meet the U.S. Person requirement specified in the posting.

Responsibilities

Assist mechanics with disassembling and assembling engines, engine sections, and accessories.
Assist with cleaning engine parts and components.
Assist with visual checks to assess whether parts are in minimally acceptable condition for continued use, where applicable.
Understand basic inspection techniques as part of a career development path.
Follow safety and continuous improvement policies and procedures, complete required training, and support applicable committee activities.
Manage tools and tooling, ensure they are serviceable before and after use, and process issues appropriately.
