About The Position

Sanford Health is hiring a Clinical High School Intern to support its PACU or Radiology space. The intern contributes to Sanford operations and processes while gaining firsthand experience aligned with the organization’s mission, vision, and values. Working collaboratively with organization leadership, the intern develops knowledge and skills and supports the delivery of quality healthcare. The role includes delegated responsibilities in a clinical setting, including direct patient care and basic patient health care needs and daily activities within scope of practice. The intern also documents care and services or performs related clerical work, follows sanitation standards, stocks supplies as needed, assists with delegated projects and administrative duties, and attends training and development opportunities to learn about organizational processes and functions. This position is 8 to 10 hours a week.

Requirements

• Be a high school student participating in a pre-approved Sanford clinical internship program.
• Hold and maintain Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.
• Obtain and maintain required department-specific competencies and certifications.
• Have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.

• Knowledge of the healthcare industry is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Assist with direct patient care in an assigned clinical department or team, following delegated responsibilities.
• Comply with assigned patient-safety duties.
• Assist with basic patient health care needs and daily activities within scope of practice.
• Document care and services or perform clerical work related to the assigned department.
• Follow sanitation standards and stock supplies as necessary.
• Assist with delegated projects and administrative duties.
• Attend training and development opportunities to learn about organizational processes and functions.
