RFK Community Alliance is seeking a passionate High School History Teacher and/or Secondary Special Education Teacher to join Don Watson Academy, our therapeutic day school serving students ages 9–21 with social and emotional disabilities. If you're committed to building meaningful relationships and helping students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally, we'd love to hear from you. Don Watson Academy provides a safe, therapeutic learning environment where students are supported in achieving academic success, developing social-emotional skills, and preparing for life beyond school. We're looking for an educator who is passionate about engaging students through meaningful, student-centered instruction while supporting their social-emotional growth. The ideal candidate creates a structured, inclusive classroom where students feel safe, respected, and motivated to learn. As a member of our collaborative educational team, you'll develop and deliver high-quality history instruction, monitor student progress toward academic and IEP goals, and partner with colleagues to meet each student's unique educational and therapeutic needs. You'll also have opportunities to lead experiential electives, contribute to school-wide activities, and help prepare students for successful post-secondary transitions.
