YWCA Tri-County Area (YW3CA) provides high school diploma (GED) instruction to adults who are in pursuit of their high school diploma. The program serves a wide range of ages, backgrounds, and culturally different members of our community. The candidate must be comfortable working with learners who had previous negative learning experiences and must be sincerely interested in helping all students achieve. YWCA is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated instructor whose primary responsibility is to prepare adult learners to pass their exam for their high school diploma while also supporting the digital literacy of all staff and students. The HSE program uses a variety of resources including web-based supplemental programs. The instructor must be able to teach a range of academic skills from low academic to high school level content. Instruction content areas is in reading, math, social studies, science, and writing. The candidate must be able to plan and implement appropriate instruction to close learning gaps that will help students move forward in their learning. The candidate must have previous experience teaching the content areas in either the high school or GED programs with a sincere interest in encouraging individuals to achieve their goals. The candidate must be able to create a positive learning environment for adult learners.
