About The Position
Match Charter Public School is seeking a High School English Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. This role is located at their high school campus in Brighton, Boston, MA. The school is a free, high-performing charter public school serving PreK-12 students, with a mission to prepare students, especially multilingual learners and first-generation college aspirants, for success in college and careers. The teacher will be responsible for developing and delivering English curriculum, maintaining high academic and behavioral expectations, and actively participating in professional development and school community initiatives.
Requirements
- At least two years of full-time experience as a classroom or special education teacher, preferably in an urban education setting
- Hold a valid and appropriate license issued by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, or meet the licensure requirements within a year of date of hire
- Believe that all students can and will succeed
- Have a desire to continually improve their practice as a teacher by taking and implementing feedback
- Have a proven record of student success and achievement
- Demonstrate an ability to work well on a team, and a willingness to support others in doing their best work
Responsibilities
- Teach four high school English classes
- Develop daily lessons aligned with Match’s English curriculum in collaboration with department colleagues and leadership team members
- Uphold high academic and behavioral expectations for students, and provide lots of support for getting students there
- Participate actively in Match’s coaching and professional development programming
- Assist with school programming as needed during non-instructional time
- Serve as a positive and collaborative member of the Match Charter Public School community
