Prep Boston is a college-preparatory charter public district, comprising a single-site middle and high school. In the 2025-2026 academic year, the community will consist of 700 students in grades 6-12, nearly 500 alumni, over 150 faculty members, and hundreds of families. The majority of students and families reside in Dorchester, Roxbury, Mattapan, and Hyde Park. As a charter public school, Boston Prep welcomes all students through an impartial public lottery and upholds the same high expectations for all students, including those with special needs and English language learners. The mission of Boston Prep is to prepare students for success in a four-year college and to embody lifelong ethical growth in thought and action. The school fosters an environment structured around accelerating academic growth, supported by an extended school day and year. Boston Prep believes that strong relationships are central to its community and that an understanding of anti-racism is critical in serving its community effectively. The school's approach is guided by six essential beliefs for success: an exceptional adult team ('One Team'), high expectations for all students, fostering ethical growth, cultivating an invested and passionate student culture balanced with structure and joy, offering a range of academic, social, and emotional support, and ensuring college persistence through student and alumni support. The school's values guide how the 'One Team' works together, holding everyone accountable to themselves, each other, students, and families, and emphasizing that organizational changes are necessary to achieve the mission. The school believes all individuals have room for improvement and that staff actions drive student results.
