About The Position

BASIS Ed is seeking a High School English Teacher for an immediate start in the East Phoenix Metro Area. The English Teacher (SET) is responsible for students’ day-to-day education by preparing and facilitating subject-specific lesson plans. Subject Expert Teachers implement the established BASIS Curriculum and tailor topics to incorporate their subject knowledge and passion. The teacher provides interactive, higher-level subject instruction, supports students’ academic and personal development, collaborates with other curriculum teachers, and carries out related supervision and non-instructional duties.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in the subject matter, or 24 or more credit hours in the applicable subject matter with another degree.
• Valid Identity Verified Prints (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Nice To Haves

• Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in the subject matter or education.
• Two or more years of teaching or education experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and facilitate subject- and grade-specific lesson plans.
• Provide subject instruction above grade-standard in an interactive learning environment to achieve exceptional results for students.
• Implement the BASIS Curriculum by designing effective and creative lessons and assessments to support internationally competitive education.
• Collaborate with other BASIS Curriculum teachers to develop curriculum and subject material and build a community of education-focused professionals.
• Tutor students in subject-specific knowledge and skills to support their academic and career success.
• Manage student behavior to foster academic achievement, personal responsibility, intellect, individuality, and respect.
• Support non-instructional functions such as “Early Bird,” “Late Bird,” and lunch.
• Maintain regular, full, predictable attendance.
• Supervise individual students and/or groups of students.
