About The Position

Study Smart seeks a part-time, in-person tutor to provide ELA and literacy tutoring to high school students in Hempstead, New York. The tutor will support both small and large groups, use information about class assignments, and adapt to new materials and teaching strategies. The role includes maintaining consistent communication with Study Smart staff and partnering with the Education team to provide students with comprehensive learning strategies. Flexible availability is sought Monday through Friday before, during, or after school hours.

Requirements

• Must hold a completed four-year degree.
• In-person availability is required.
• Complete and pass a background check, which may include fingerprinting based on location.

• Teaching or tutoring experience is strongly desired.

Responsibilities

• Teach ELA and literacy to high school students.
• Provide tutoring support to small and large groups of students.
