Part-Time High School ELA & Literacy Tutor (Hempstead, NY)
About The Position
Study Smart is seeking a part-time tutor to provide in-person ELA and literacy support to high school students in Hempstead, New York. Tutors support small and large groups, use information about class assignments, adapt to new materials and teaching strategies, and communicate consistently with Study Smart staff. They partner with the Education team to provide students with comprehensive learning strategies. The role requires flexible weekday availability before, during, or after school hours. Requirements
- Hold a completed four-year degree.
- Be available to work in person.
- Complete and pass a background check, which may include fingerprinting depending on location.
- Have flexible availability Monday through Friday before, during, or after school hours.
Nice To Haves
- Teaching or tutoring experience is strongly desired.
Responsibilities
- Provide ELA and literacy tutoring to high school students.
- Provide tutoring support to small and large groups of students.
