The Assistant Academic Administrator directs and coordinates educational, administrative and counseling activities of high school students. This role ensures conformance of educational programs to state and local school board standards through evaluation, development and coordination activities. It also involves researching and implementing non-K12 curriculum resources that meet state standards, articulating the school’s mission and vision, and ensuring the school meets the needs of students while complying with local, state, and federal laws regarding special education and other categorical programs. The position interfaces with students, families, local Municipal Court systems, and local districts regarding compliance as it relates to student attendance and engagement. Additionally, the Assistant Academic Administrator develops and oversees the implementation of the school’s Student Achievement Improvement Plan, supervises and evaluates teaching staff, manages teacher performance and professional development, and coordinates with teachers and K12 Enrollment regarding expulsions and withdrawals. This role directly supervises 15-30 Full-time Equivalent (FTE) regular employees and/or contractors, carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws, including interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, directing work, appraising performance, rewarding, disciplining, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.
