About The Position

United Protective Services is hiring a High Rise Flex Security Officer for commercial and high-rise properties in the West Houston 77024 area. The officer will work across multiple assignments and adapt to changing property coverage needs, including call-offs, vacancies, special coverage, and other operational staffing needs. Hours and weekly schedules may vary. Candidates must be available for at least two of the day, evening, and overnight shifts; overnight availability and open weekend availability are required. The role offers starting pay of $16.50 per hour, with experienced candidates eligible for up to $17.00 per hour based on qualifications and relevant security experience. Strong-performing Flex Officers may be considered for permanent assignments and future leadership opportunities. United Protective Services provides training, guidance, and management support.

Requirements

Active Texas Level II or Level III Security License.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
Ability to adjust quickly to new environments, assignments, and responsibilities.
Reliability, punctuality, and consistent professionalism in appearance and conduct.
Ability to work independently and follow written and verbal instructions.
Availability for at least two of the following shifts: day, evening, and overnight.
Overnight availability is required.
Open weekend availability is required.
Flexibility to accept assignments at different properties within the West Houston area.

Nice To Haves

At least 1 year of security experience is preferred.
High-rise, commercial, corporate, or Class A property security experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Accept and fulfill shift assignments as operational needs change.
Maintain a professional and visible security presence.
Conduct interior and exterior patrols as required.
Address issues or disturbances with professionalism and sound judgment.
Assist tenants, visitors, staff, and property management while providing a high level of customer service.
Document incidents and daily activities accurately and thoroughly.
Follow site-specific post orders, policies, and procedures.
Maintain communication with supervisors and management.
Keep all issued equipment in proper working condition.
