About The Position

A High Dosage Tutor works directly with elementary- and middle-school-aged students, providing tutoring and instructional support in reading and math. Tutors help students master grade-level academic standards in small groups of up to three students per tutor. This is a seasonal, part-time position scheduled for 2 to 3.5 hours per day during after-school hours determined by the school district, five days a week. Work schedules may change in accordance with Think Together's needs.

Requirements

• Proof of high school graduation or GED.
• At least 48 college semester units or 60 college quarter units, or a passing score on a pre-employment test.

Responsibilities

• Provide small-group and individual interventions to help students master instructional materials.
• Engage students by following and implementing the intervention curriculum.
• Read to students, listen to students read, and participate in other oral communication activities with them.
• Accurately score student assessments and monitor student progress.
• Assist school staff in devising strategies to reinforce material based on individual students' needs, interests, and abilities.
• Alert the Student and Family Literacy Coordinator to concerns or relevant information about individual students.
• Maintain ethical conduct and confidentiality of student information at the level expected of fully licensed teachers.
• Participate in assigned in-service training sessions.
• Operate and care for equipment and instructional materials.
• Maintain daily attendance records for individual students.
• Complete paperwork accurately and promptly.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Arrive punctually to fulfill site start-up and assignment responsibilities.
• Maintain close communication with the Program Analyst about planned or emergency absences.
• Serve as a positive role model through appropriate dress, speech, attitude, and courtesy.
• Help maintain the site according to Think Together standards.
• Comply with organizational and site policies and procedures.
