About The Position

The High Dosage Tutor works under the supervision of personnel and provides part-time, high-quality academic support and tutorial services to students in grades K–8. The role delivers targeted instruction to promote student achievement. Work schedules may change in accordance with Think Together’s needs.

Tutors support students in an instructional setting, help maintain behavior and safety standards, implement tutoring lessons as designed, assess and track student mastery, and build positive relationships that foster achievement and belonging. The role also includes training and professional development, progress tracking, maintaining accurate class paperwork, and supporting clean and orderly classroom and facility spaces. Tutors are expected to comply with organizational and site policies and maintain confidentiality in student and staff matters.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Associate degree (two years), or 48 semester or 60 quarter hours of college credits, and/or pass a pre-employment test.
• At least six months of previous experience working with children in a classroom or afterschool environment.
• Ability to speak and write Standard English appropriate in a public-school setting.
• Advanced math and English skills for grades K–8.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver daily small-group, targeted academic support using research-based curriculum.
• Support students in an instructional setting while maintaining high standards for behavior and safety.
• Follow and implement consistent tutoring lessons with complete fidelity.
• Collect student mastery data using assessments and track student results.
• Build positive, caring, and achievement-focused relationships with students.
• Support consistent student routines and procedures to maximize instructional time.
• Participate in pre-service and ongoing training and professional development.
• Use common communication tools and systems to track student progress and performance.
• Serve as a positive role model through appropriate dress, speech, attitude, and courtesy.
• Create an environment that fosters a sense of belonging.
• Provide youth with experiences that enrich their school experience and outlook on life.
• Maintain accurate paperwork, including sign-in/sign-out sheets for each class session.
• Arrive punctually to meet site start-up and assignment responsibilities.
• Maintain clean classroom and facility spaces.
• Maintain confidentiality in student and staff matters.
• Comply with organization and site policies and follow procedures.
