About The Position

A survey of Canadian history from Confederation to the present, which addresses key social, cultural and political issues while highlighting the history of Indigenous peoples. Topics include state expansion, modernization, protest and reform, war and society, class, gender and family, racialized identities, and the place of Canada in the world.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver lectures for the HI293 BR: History of Canada Since Confederation course.
  • Address key social, cultural, and political issues in Canadian history from Confederation to the present.
  • Highlight the history of Indigenous peoples.
  • Cover topics including state expansion, modernization, protest and reform, war and society, class, gender and family, racialized identities, and the place of Canada in the world.
  • Potentially use AI tools in the hiring process (though the posting states 'No').
  • Mark and grade student work.
  • Coordinate large classes or multi-section courses if applicable.
