HI-CVU RN - Varied Shift (08/10)
About The Position
This is a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position for a Registered Nurse (RN). The unit has 15 beds, with 3 step-down ICU beds and 12 telemetry beds. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4 for Progressive Care and 1:3 for Step-down ICU. The position requires scheduled 36 hours per week following the first week of orientation, with no guarantee of hours. There is no on-call requirement. The role involves providing primary nursing care, telemetry monitoring, telemetry strip reading, and fingerstick blood sugar checks. Equipment utilized includes Meditech charting, Pyxis for medications, BIPAP, and continuous cardiac monitoring.
Requirements
- Active State of HI license required by the start of the assignment.
- At least 1 year of hospital acute care experience within the last year.
- BLS/BCLS certification.
Nice To Haves
- Progressive Care experience preferred.
- Telemetry experience preferred.
- ACLS preferred.
- PALS certification preferred.
- NIHSS certification preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide primary nursing care.
- Perform telemetry monitoring.

- Administer medications using Pyxis.
- Operate BIPAP machines.
- Perform continuous cardiac monitoring.
- Float to all acute units in-house, including Medical, Surgical/Peds, ICU, and ER, as needed.
