About The Position

Bridges Homeward is a long-standing human services agency with a history dating back to 1873. Originally founded as the Avon Home, it has evolved to provide a range of services including foster and group care, adoption, developmental disabilities support, and family support programs. These services aim to strengthen individuals and families across more than 100 cities and towns in Massachusetts. Bridges Homeward emphasizes work-life balance, operating on a 33.5-hour work week. The Healthy Families Massachusetts (HFM) Program focuses on preventing child abuse and neglect by supporting effective parenting, promoting optimal child development, enhancing educational and life skills, reducing repeat pregnancies, and fostering parental wellness.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in human services or fields related to working with children and families, OR a bachelor's degree in these fields with 3 years of relevant experience, OR less than a bachelor's degree with commensurate HFA experience.
  • Solid understanding of or experience in supervising diverse staff with humility.
  • Experience providing support to staff in stressful work environments.
  • Knowledge of infant and child development and parent-child attachment.
  • Experience with family services that embraces family-centered and strength-based service provision.
  • Knowledge of parent-infant health and dynamics of child abuse and neglect.
  • Experience supporting culturally diverse communities/families.
  • Experience in home visiting with a strong background in early childhood prevention services.
  • Willingness to engage in building reflective practice (e.g., capacity for introspection, communicating awareness of self in relation to others, recognizing the value of supervision, etc.).

Nice To Haves

  • Infant mental health endorsement preferred.
  • Experience with reflective practice preferred.
  • Spanish speaking preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Directly supervises up to 5 home visitors, including providing and documenting weekly reflective supervision.
  • Provides oversight of home visitor documentation and assessments, ensuring compliance with the HFM Model.
  • Maintains up-to-date documentation of supervision.
  • Processes and manages referrals and intakes, and supports participant outreach.
  • Maintains ongoing communication with community partners.
  • Supports program goals, including program outreach, group development and enrollment, and team growth and professional development.
  • Assists Program Director in recruitment, hiring, evaluation, and training of new home visitors.
  • Participates in HFM Provider meetings and other collateral meetings as needed.
  • Completes Quality Assurance activities, including observing home visits, QA calls, Co-visits, and providing feedback to home visitors.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
