About The Position

Reporting to the Heritage Sites Coordinator, this position is responsible for a variety of duties, including, but not limited to: general carpentry, general maintenance assistance on capital projects, trail maintenance and construction, general heritage sites maintenance and cleanup, supplies pick-up and delivery, and transport to remote locations. An Eligibility List may be established from this competition – the duration of the eligibility list may be up to 12 months. The eligibility list may be used to fill future permanent full-time, permanent part-time, temporary full-time, temporary part-time, term, or auxiliary on-call vacancies within the same department and classification based on the organizational needs by going the next highest ranked candidate until the eligibility list expires.

Requirements

Experience with basic carpentry and construction, bush cutting and clearing related tasks.
Experience in using hand and power tools.
Experience driving various vehicles (trucks, ATVs, boats, trailers, tractors, etc.).
Ability to lift up to 80lbs.
Ability to work in strenuous positions and for extended periods of time.
Ability to follow instructions and read manuals.
Ability to work and live in remote locations for extended periods of time.
Knowledge of WCB processes.
Criminal Record Check.
Valid Class 5 Drivers License with clear Driver’s Abstract.
Standard First Aid certification or willing to obtain.
Ability to lift heavy objects.
TH101 Cultural Awareness training.
