About The Position

This is a full-time, on-site position within a thriving medical practice environment, offering a compelling opportunity to deliver exceptional patient care and advance your clinical expertise. As a Hematology physician, you will play a vital role in diagnosing and treating a wide range of blood disorders, including anemia, clotting abnormalities, and hematologic malignancies. You will work within a collaborative, patient-first medical practice, partnering with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans that improve patient outcomes and quality of life.

Requirements

Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution
Board certification or board eligibility in Hematology
Active and unrestricted medical license to practice in the state of Virginia
Completion of an accredited internal medicine residency and hematology fellowship
Strong clinical knowledge of hematologic disorders and treatment modalities
Excellent diagnostic, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities with patients, families, and colleagues
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, on-site clinical environment
Demonstrated commitment to patient-centered care and continuous learning
Must be board-certified or board-eligible

Nice To Haves

Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems is preferred
Fellowship training in hematology-oncology is a plus
Prior experience in a community or hospital-based medical practice is desirable
Prior director experience preferred

Responsibilities

Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with benign and malignant hematologic conditions
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and supportive care protocols
Order and interpret laboratory tests, bone marrow biopsies, and imaging studies
Collaborate with oncologists, pathologists, and other specialists to ensure coordinated patient care
Provide patient education regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and disease management
Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient medical records in accordance with regulatory standards
Participate in tumor boards, case conferences, and continuing medical education activities
Supervise and mentor residents, fellows, and advanced practice providers as applicable
Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations, safety standards, and institutional policies
Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and clinical research projects
Provide compassionate, evidence-based care that prioritizes patient well-being
