About The Position

This is a full-time, on-site position within a thriving medical practice environment, offering a compelling opportunity to deliver exceptional patient care and advance your clinical expertise. As a Hematology physician, you will play a vital role in diagnosing and treating a wide range of blood disorders, including anemia, clotting abnormalities, and hematologic malignancies. You will work within a collaborative, patient-first medical practice, partnering with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans that improve patient outcomes and quality of life.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution
  • Board certification or board eligibility in Hematology
  • Active and unrestricted medical license to practice in the state of Virginia
  • Completion of an accredited internal medicine residency and hematology fellowship
  • Strong clinical knowledge of hematologic disorders and treatment modalities
  • Excellent diagnostic, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities with patients, families, and colleagues
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, on-site clinical environment
  • Demonstrated commitment to patient-centered care and continuous learning
  • Must be board-certified or board-eligible

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems is preferred
  • Fellowship training in hematology-oncology is a plus
  • Prior experience in a community or hospital-based medical practice is desirable
  • Prior director experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with benign and malignant hematologic conditions
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and supportive care protocols
  • Order and interpret laboratory tests, bone marrow biopsies, and imaging studies
  • Collaborate with oncologists, pathologists, and other specialists to ensure coordinated patient care
  • Provide patient education regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and disease management
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient medical records in accordance with regulatory standards
  • Participate in tumor boards, case conferences, and continuing medical education activities
  • Supervise and mentor residents, fellows, and advanced practice providers as applicable
  • Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations, safety standards, and institutional policies
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and clinical research projects
  • Provide compassionate, evidence-based care that prioritizes patient well-being
