About The Position
We are seeking a Hematology & Oncology Physician for a Locum Tenens position in Spokane, WA. This is an inpatient role focusing on clinical care only, with a 7 on / 7 off shift schedule from 8 AM to 5 PM. The coverage period is from September 2026 onwards, for supplemental staffing needs. The agency covers travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance. The average daily patient volume is 15, with a case mix of oncology and hematology. The facility utilizes the Epic EMR system, has on-site lab and X-ray, and is supported by 2 RNs, 4 MAs, and 3 APPs.
Requirements
- Board Certified (BC)
- WA or IMLC License
- DEA required
- Clean file required for expedited privileges
Nice To Haves
- Fellowship preferred
- Inpatient oncology hospitalist experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive inpatient medical oncology and hematology care as hospitalist
- Manage patient admissions, daily rounds, and discharges in a 7-on/7-off schedule
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary team including nursing, pharmacy, and subspecialists
- Document patient encounters and orders in Epic EMR
- Participate in quality improvement and adherence to evidence-based protocols
