About The Position
This is an ongoing coverage need for a Hematology/Oncology Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) in an outpatient setting. The role involves providing comprehensive patient care, including assessments, treatment planning, diagnostic interpretation, medication management, and patient education. The practice includes one physician, two Medical Assistants, and two office staff members. The position is for adult patients and utilizes EPIC and Beacon EMR systems. Credentialing is expected to take 90 days.
Requirements
- Active Oregon licensure
- Board certification
- AHA BLS certification
- AONCP certification
- Minimum 1-year Hematology/Oncology experience or equivalent
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree focused on an NP specialty (e.g., family practice, adult-gerontology, pediatrics) OR Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) degree from an accredited program
- Active and unencumbered advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) license in Oregon OR Active and unencumbered physician assistant (PA) license in Oregon
- National certification as an NP in a relevant specialty area by a recognized certifying body (e.g., American Academy of Nurse Practitioners [AANP]) OR National certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
- At least one year of experience in a clinical setting relevant to their specialty

Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to diagnose and treat a variety of medical conditions
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests
- Prescribe medications and manage chronic conditions
- Provide patient education and counseling on healthy lifestyle choices
- Perform procedures as permitted by state regulations and APP specialty
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated care
- Document patient care accurately and thoroughly
