About The Position

In this project, the Hematologist will apply expertise in hematology and oncology to fine-tune large language models. The role uses knowledge of cancer diagnostics, chemotherapy protocols, and hematologic disorders to help ensure AI systems provide accurate, empathetic, and safe medical reasoning. The engagement is fully remote and collaborative, requires 20–40 hours per week with at least four hours per day and overlap with PST, and is expected to last one month with a possible extension. It is contractor/freelancer work and does not include medical or paid leave.

Requirements

• MD or equivalent.
• Active medical practice within the last 3+ years.
• Board certification or equivalent qualification in Hematology and/or Oncology.
• Strong knowledge of solid tumors, hematologic malignancies, coagulation disorders, and cancer therapeutics.
• Ability to explain complex medical reasoning clearly in patient-friendly language.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Commitment of 20–40 hours per week, including at least four hours per day and overlap with PST.

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with digital medical tools.
• Education from a top-tier institution, such as Harvard, Stanford, UCSF, or Oxford.

Responsibilities

• Design and solve advanced clinical scenarios in hematology and oncology, including chemotherapy regimen selection and management of coagulopathies, anemias, and hematologic malignancies.
• Evaluate AI-generated responses for diagnostic accuracy, clinical judgment, and evidence-based reasoning in hematology and oncology.
• Identify gaps in AI understanding across subspecialties, including solid tumors, bone marrow transplant, and supportive and palliative care.
• Collaborate with AI researchers and medical peers to improve model quality and reliability.
• Provide structured expert feedback to inform AI development for clinical and educational applications.
