About The Position

Cooper University Health Care is seeking a Hematologist/Oncologist to practice in Southern NJ, at Cooper University Health Care and MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper based at Cape Regional Medical Center in Cape May County, New Jersey. This practice is part of Cooper University Health Care, the only Academic Tertiary Level Full Service Medical Center based in Camden, NJ. The practice serves as an extension of the MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper, a network site of the top-ranked University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. This is a very busy program with a thriving hematology and oncology practice, covering all aspects of general hematology and oncology, including an inpatient program, an outpatient office, and infusion center services. It is part of an integrated cancer program that includes on-site and referral surgical oncology specialists and on-site radiation oncology services, with the full complement of support services for physicians and patients. Cooper's main campus in Camden, New Jersey, also has a high-volume program including subspecialty outpatient care, multidisciplinary clinical teams, and associated subspecialty services: surgical oncology, radiation oncology, and associated allied health professionals. Inpatient care delivered at Cooper University Hospital in Camden includes inpatient chemotherapy, bone marrow transplant, and cellular therapy services. There is an opportunity to join the faculty of Cooper Medical School at Rowan University on campus. The program is ACGME accredited with a total of 9 fellows. The role involves participating in conferences with the opportunity to teach medical students, residents, and the hematology/oncology fellows. The practice covers a full range of Hematology/Oncology with a thriving and successful group.

Requirements

  • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
  • Completion of residency in Internal Medicine
  • Completion of fellowship training in Hematology and/or Medical Oncology
  • Board certified or board eligible in Hematology and/or Oncology
  • Active and unrestricted medical license in New Jersey
  • DEA certification and ability to prescribe controlled substances

Responsibilities

  • Practice full range of Hematology / Oncology
  • Provide inpatient care including inpatient chemotherapy, bone marrow transplant, and cellular therapy services
  • Provide outpatient office services
  • Provide infusion center services
  • Participate in conferences
  • Teach medical students, residents, and hematology/oncology fellows
