About The Position

The Helper performs carpentry and construction tasks, including interpreting blueprints and specifications, preparing material takeoffs, building and repairing structures and fixtures, and preparing surfaces for finishing. The role involves using hand and power tools and company equipment, safely receiving and offloading materials, and completing other assigned duties. Extended hours and weekend work may be required; compensation will follow Fair Labor Standards Act guidelines.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent desired.
2 to 3 years of experience in skilled carpentry.
Favorable driving record and valid driver's license.
Successfully complete a background check and drug/alcohol screening.
Skills in reading, writing, and math.
Ability to read blueprints.
Accuracy, attention to detail, organization, reliability, responsibility, safety awareness, accountability, ambition, active listening, applied learning, conflict resolution, customer orientation, and decision-making.
Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
Skill in using carpentry power and hand tools.

Responsibilities

Read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications.
Perform tasks using hand tools, including minor demolition and wood and metal stud framing.
Prepare material takeoffs.
Construct, install, and repair structures and fixtures made of wood, plywood, and wallboard.
Operate hand and power tools and company equipment.
Receive and safely and proficiently offload materials.
Prepare surfaces for paint and other applications.
Perform other duties as assigned.
