About The Position

MSS Solutions, LLC is hiring a Mechanical Helper to support project work under the direction of others. The role assists mechanics, foremen, and superintendents in completing projects on time and to a high standard, while maintaining a clean and organized work area and following safety policies and procedures. The position involves communicating with management, coworkers, and customers, unloading trucks, identifying and addressing unsafe conditions, and collaborating with other workers. Other duties may be assigned by the company. The job requires some knowledge of HVAC or general construction, reliable transportation and communication, punctuality, appropriate work attire, and the ability to communicate clearly with a foreman and follow directions. Candidates must provide their own hand tools; trade-specific specialty tools may be required as work progresses. Applicants must pass a background check and drug test. This is a physically demanding position involving frequent standing, walking, reaching, gripping, stooping, crouching, kneeling, balancing, and climbing. It includes lifting and material handling, with occasional solo lifting up to 50 pounds and material handling that may involve occasional lifting up to 115 pounds. Work may expose employees to weather, extreme temperatures, high noise, electrical shock, chemicals, wet or humid conditions, vibration, moving mechanical parts, and elevated work areas.

Requirements

Some knowledge of HVAC or general construction.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including days, nights, and some weekends.
Reliable transportation.
Reliable form of communication.
Punctuality and ability to arrive in appropriate attire and present oneself professionally and in uniform.
Ability to communicate clearly with the foreman and follow directions.
Must provide personal hand tools, including a tape measure, wrench, pliers, hammer (sheet metal hammer for sheet metal helpers), channel locks, level, screwdriver, snips, and crescent wrench.
Must successfully pass a background check and drug test.
Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, including standing, walking, reaching, gripping, climbing, and lifting.

Responsibilities

Assist with general work activities as directed.
Support mechanics, foremen, and superintendents in completing projects on time.
Provide quality and productive work without constant reminders.
Communicate with management, superintendents, customers, mechanics, and foremen.
Assist in unloading trucks.
Maintain a clean and organized job space.
Follow safety policies and procedures.
Observe, report, and correct unsafe work environments.
Collaborate with other workers to complete projects.
Perform other duties and responsibilities assigned by the company.
