Helper C/ Cleaner (Day Shift)
About The Position
The Cleaner/Helper C completes work orders within their job classification and supports janitorial and maintenance operations at the facility. The role includes moving trash containers and bulky items from vacant apartments to dumpsters, maintaining garbage-removal equipment, and helping with snow and ice removal. The employee maintains common spaces and mechanical, electrical, and shop areas, assists service staff with maintenance functions, coordinates parts, supplies, and equipment from local vendors and inventory, and performs simple procedures and other routine maintenance duties. The employee is expected to maintain regular attendance and provide high-quality service to tenants, staff, and visitors. Work orders beyond the employee’s classification must be reported to a supervisor. The typical schedule is Saturday through Wednesday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with Thursday and Friday off. Pay is $22.82 per hour.
Requirements
- Experience commensurate with the specific facility for the position of utility engineer.
- Computer skills sufficient to interact with building and Able Engineering Services computerized systems.
- Certification meeting OSHA ACM awareness training requirements, as required.
Responsibilities
- Complete work orders that are within the employee’s classification, and report work beyond that classification to a supervisor.
- Move trash containers on the property and notify the Head Janitor when assistance is needed.
- Maintain equipment used for garbage removal.
- Assist with snow and ice removal.
- Maintain and clean common spaces, mechanical areas, electrical areas, and shop areas.
- Assist with trash-outs of vacant apartments, including moving heavy or bulky items to dumpsters.
- Assist service staff with maintenance functions as requested.
- Coordinate parts, supplies, and equipment from local vendors and inventory.
- Perform simple procedures, tasks, and other routine maintenance duties.
- Maintain regular workplace attendance and provide high-quality service to tenants, staff, and visitors.
