About The Position

Construct, build, and maintain overhead and underground electric facilities with primary voltages up to 15 kV. This field and skilled-trade position involves installing, removing, and maintaining electrical line facilities and equipment. The position is onsite and requires living within 20 miles of the work location. The employee must be available for on-call duty and emergency response, irregular hours, and out-of-town assignments as required. Work may also involve additional hours, alternate locations, or other duties during storms, outages, emergencies, or other situations deemed necessary by the company. A pre-employment Fitness for Duty exam is required. Authorization to work in the United States is a precondition; Entergy will not sponsor work visas for this position.

Requirements

No prior experience required.
Must live within 20 miles of the work location.
Ability to use physical strength to perform required tasks in all weather conditions.
Ability to work irregular hours and out-of-town assignments as required.
Good communication skills.
Ability to take and understand directives and complete tasks with limited supervision.
Must pass a pre-employment Fitness for Duty exam.
Authorization to work in the United States; the company will not sponsor work visas.

Responsibilities

Install, remove, and maintain overhead and underground primary line facilities and secondary services.
Install overhead and underground transformers and wire all types of transformer banks.
Install and wire regulators, capacitors, and reclosers.
Drive different sizes and types of trucks.
Operate equipment including aerial bucket and digger derrick trucks.
Read and understand job prints and sketches.
Recognize materials and understand their functions.
Set and climb poles of all sizes in open areas, rear alleys, and in energized lines.
Be available for on-call duty and emergency response.
Work additional hours, at alternate locations, and perform additional duties as needed in connection with storms, outages, emergencies, or other situations deemed necessary by the company.
