About The Position

The HELOC Processor ensures timely and accurate processing through completion on all HELOC loans. This role involves collaborating with Underwriters and Loan Consultants to obtain all necessary documentation to clear underwriting conditions. The position provides excellent service by maintaining knowledge of all products, services, organizational policies, and procedures. The Processor performs a variety of services for both internal and external members and lending functions via telephone, email, and internet. The role must be available to work before or after hours, Saturdays and Holidays for meetings/ trainings and/or as workload requires. The position must participate in training annually or as required for BSA and Privacy Act.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
  • 1-2 years’ experience in a financial institution.
  • 1-2 years’ sales experience.
  • 1-2 years’ experience with consumer loans, home equity or mortgage processing.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in preparation of home equity loan closing documents and funding requirements.
  • Ability to work closely with Title companies and analyze title reports and O&Es.
  • Knowledge of, or ability to learn Achieva’ s lending guidelines.
  • Ability to identify and solve problems.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Organized with high attention to detail.
  • Intermediate computer skills including with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Work and Excel).
  • Ability to multi-task and work at a moderate to rapid pace.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate when needed.

Responsibilities

  • Provide, prompt, friendly, and accurate service to internal and external members.
  • Deliver professional and efficient loan services focusing on individual needs.
  • Communicate professionally and efficiently with all departments, promoting constructive collaboration.
  • Maintain confidentiality in all aspects of providing services to membership.
  • Perform member maintenance as required.
  • Review and analyze applications to obtain supporting documentation needed to satisfy all outstanding lending conditions including homeowner’s insurance requirements and deductible requirements.
  • Confirm and schedule closings/ fundings and coordinate signing of documents.
  • Obtain payoff and cut checks as required to meet funding conditions.
  • Prepare Home Equity loan closing documents and meet funding requirements.
  • Work closely with Title Companies, analyze title reports and O&Es to clear closing requirements and record in proper county.
  • Prepare loan documentation and close files electronically and in person.
  • Exceed assigned production goals by managing pipeline efficiently, reviewing it daily to ensure loans are moving forward.
  • Meet production and sales goals.
  • Communicate system issues, request enhancements, and provide suggestions on ways to continually improve processes.
  • Represent the credit union with professionalism and courtesy in all interactions.
  • Uphold the highest ethical standards in all interactions and responsibilities.
  • Represent and uphold the Achieva Brand Frame.
  • Support leadership initiatives that position the credit union as a top employer.
  • Participate in annual training or as required by BSA and the Privacy Act.
  • Perform other essential functions as needed or assigned.
  • Travel may be required on occasion.
  • Be available to work flexible hours including before/after hours, Saturdays, holidays, based to meet member and business demands.
