About The Position

The Home Equity Line of Credit (HELOC) Processor I is responsible for managing and processing HELOC loan applications from submission through closing. This role involves ensuring all documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant with regulatory standards and company policies. Key responsibilities include title search requests &/or curative requirements, flood certifications, clearing any applicable stipulations, closing process, generating closing documents, gathering signatures from borrower(s), and initial disbursement (if applicable). They must communicate professionally and effectively while working efficiently in a fast-paced environment. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn and grow in the retail lending environment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Reliable transportation is required.
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license
  • General retail lending & processing experience: 1 year
  • Intermediate computer skills in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Microsoft Teams) and Encompass
  • Basic understanding of retail lending processes and terminology
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to learn proprietary computer software such as Keystone and OnBase
  • Intermediate written and verbal communication skills required to facilitate sharing of information with members, staff, and external contacts.

Responsibilities

  • Review and process HELOC loan applications, ensuring all required documents are collected, verified, and meeting underwriting guidelines.
  • Verify borrower information, including income, employment, assets, and liabilities, to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Maintain organized and detailed HELOC loan files, ensuring all documents are properly filed and accessible.
  • Ensure all loan files comply with federal, state, and company policies and regulations.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices to continually improve the HELOC processing function.
  • Act as a liaison between member outreach specialist(s), borrowers, underwriters, and other related parties to facilitate a smooth loan process including loan closing.
  • Identify and resolve issues or discrepancies in loan files, escalating complex issues to the appropriate parties as needed.
  • Provide exceptional member service to borrowers, answering questions, and addressing concerns throughout the loan process.
