The Heavy Vehicle Mechanic operates, repairs, maintains, and function tests heavy power construction equipment such as compressors, pumps, hoists, shovels, trucks, tractors, graders, bulldozers, front-end loaders, scrapers, motor graders, skid steers, backhoe, dump trucks and various flightline support vehicles and associated equipment. This role involves conducting mobile maintenance, performing heavy equipment maintenance activities including installation, repair, troubleshooting, diagnostics, and preventive maintenance. Responsibilities include disassembling and reassembling engines and mechanical units, replacing and rebuilding various heavy equipment components, performing operator care such as washing and cleaning, and conducting routine inspections and maintenance on vehicles.
