About The Position

The Dakota City Plant is seeking dedicated and skilled individuals for Heavy Skill General Production in Processing/Harvest. The role involves using knives and hooks, following personal protective equipment (PPE) protocols, and completing physically demanding production tasks. Work may take place at a table, elevated platform, moving table, or chain, and may involve extended standing, typically for eight hours or more. Employees may work in cold, hot, and humid conditions and must follow required safety procedures. Candidates must have at least one month of prior experience in a meat processing facility. Experience in specified Harvest or Processing jobs is preferred. A new-hire sign-on bonus of up to $5,000 is available with qualifications. Relocation assistance is not eligible. Prior Tyson employees must observe a minimum 180-day waiting period and are subject to a three-time employment limit for this location. The position is open across all shifts.

Requirements

At least one month of prior experience in a meat processing facility.
Willingness and ability to work on a moving chain or table.
Ability to work in both hot and cold environments.
Physical ability to push, lift, and pull weights up to 80 pounds using appropriate techniques.
Commitment to wearing and properly using all required PPE.
Ability to stand for extended periods during the shift.
Must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Nice To Haves

Experience in one or more of the following Harvest jobs: 1rst Butter, 2nd Butter, Low Backer, 1rst Legger, 2nd Legger, Rib Beef, or Knocker/Shackler.
Experience in one or more of the following Processing jobs: 13th Rib/Finger & Bottom Bones, Pull Ap Bn/Pdl/Bn/Mt, Top Boners, Rib Bonner, Drop Rounds, or Tender Pullers.

Responsibilities

Operate knives and hooks safely and efficiently.
Perform physical tasks including pushing, lifting, and pulling weights up to 80 pounds using appropriate techniques.
Work on a moving chain or table as required.
Work in varying environmental conditions, including cold, hot, and humid settings.
Stand for the duration of the shift, which may extend beyond eight hours.
Wear and properly use required PPE and comply with safety requirements.
