About The Position

This role is responsible for preparing and painting heavy equipment and its components to meet production deadlines. The painter will manage the entire painting process from start to finish, ensuring a high-quality finished product with minimal supervision. The position also involves maintaining the paint bay and associated equipment, coordinating workflow with the wash bay, and working collaboratively with team members. Flexibility in work hours and the ability to adapt to changing project demands are essential.

Requirements

• Ability to read and understand English.
• Understand operating instructions for different machines.
• Read and understand maintenance and service procedures for painting equipment and perform maintenance.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work safely to avoid harm to self and others.
• Experience in proper preparation of all surfaces to be primed or painted.
• Ability to paint parts, components, and machines to obtain a quality finish.
• Good knowledge of the operation of all types of heavy equipment.
• Good knowledge of all lifting procedures when using the hoist and forklift.
• Ability to work under pressure with constant completion deadlines.
• Capability of using various types of paint equipment such as Graco and Binks Spray Equipment.
• Proper maintenance and use of respirators.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and paint parts, components, and machines.
• Meet production deadlines and shuttle truck schedules.
• Maintain the paint bay and all related equipment.
• Take a job from start to finish without constant supervision.
• Produce a first-class finished product.
• Work extended hours when necessary to complete projects.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment in and around the paint bay.
• Coordinate workflow through the wash bay and into the paint bay.
• Keep work flowing in a timely manner.
• Work with a positive attitude and spirit of cooperation.
• Change direction on projects and move between jobs with minimal disturbance.
• Work flexible hours, often with little advance notice.
