About The Position

Austin Bridge & Road is seeking Heavy Equipment Operators for earthwork. The role involves operating equipment to lift, move, position, and reposition loads and to move products, equipment, or materials to and from industrial work areas. Operators must ensure loads are safely attached before lifts and operate equipment according to signals from a rigger. The position also involves inspecting, cleaning, maintaining, and lubricating equipment, and avoiding hazards such as utility lines, other equipment, coworkers, and falling objects. Applicants must be legally authorized to work for any employer in the United States; the company cannot sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for this position. Austin Bridge & Road is a heavy highway and transportation company that provides asphalt and concrete services and builds projects including highway interchanges, tollways, runways, bridges, rail projects, and water and wastewater facilities. Requirements

Must have 1–3 years of experience operating equipment in a construction setting.
Must pass a drug screen and physical examination.
Must be legally authorized to work for any employer in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.
No minimum education requirements.

Responsibilities

Operate excavators, water trucks, loaders, compactors, and skid steers.
Operate stationary or traveling cranes to lift, move, position, and reposition loads.
Ensure loads are safely attached to the crane before making a lift.
Move products, equipment, or materials to and from industrial work areas.
Inspect equipment daily for safety issues and determine whether any parts are malfunctioning.
Clean, maintain, and lubricate equipment.
Take action to avoid potential hazards and obstructions, including utility lines, other equipment, other workers, and falling objects.
Operate equipment according to signals from the rigger.
Start engines and use throttles, switches, levers, and pedals to operate machines.
Perform other duties as assigned.
