About The Position

Oregon Steel Mills LLC is hiring a Heavy Equipment Operator for rail services in a heavy industrial environment. The role operates locomotives and switches railroad cars, maintains records, secures railcars, and works with other rail-served departments. The starting wage is $29.70 per hour, with monthly bonus opportunities. Benefits begin on the first day of employment.

Requirements

• Ability to walk tracks, check railcars, and climb stairs.
• Ability to qualify as a switch crew operator within a reasonable period of time.
• Ability to work outdoors.
• Ability to work in a self-directed team environment.
• Self-starter with organization and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent oral communication skills.
• Good computer skills, including Excel, Word, and OIS.
• Successful completion of an ergonomics evaluation.
• Eligible to work in the USA.

• Experience in railroad switching and equipment operation is preferred.
