About The Position

We are seeking experienced Heavy Equipment Operators to join our team in Sherman, Texas. The ideal candidate will be skilled in operating a Trackhoe to safely and efficiently support construction activities, while maintaining a strong focus on detail, safety, and teamwork to meet project goals. The Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for operating various equipment such as Backhoe, Trackhoe, Skid Steer, Excavator, Dozer, and other miscellaneous equipment. Must have thorough knowledge of the operation, safety, and maintenance of the equipment being operated. Must possess the ability to safely operate equipment in the presence of field crew members and utilities, ensuring the safety of all persons, equipment, property, and utilities in the area. Heavy Equipment Operators are responsible for adhering to all safety regulations and reporting any violations to field supervision immediately.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1-2 years related experience excavating near underground utilities.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Practice safety rules.
  • Follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Safe use of hand & power tools.
  • Report to and assist immediate supervisor.
  • Perform quality work as determined by project specifications.
  • Accountable for all tools and materials at the end of your shift.
  • Must work well as part of a team.
  • Must comply with company’s drug and alcohol abuse policy.
  • Must be able to pass physical examination, pre-employment if necessary, and as required by the company.
  • Able to climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding, stairways, etc.
  • Stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or work at elevated heights as well as in confined spaces (towers, vessels, excavations, etc.).
  • Able to carry 50 lbs. of tool and/or materials. It is recommended to get assistance to lift items over 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to stand or walk for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to work extended hours on your feet on uneven surfaces (dirt, concrete, asphalt, mud, gravel, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Operating various equipment such as Backhoe, Trackhoe, Skid Steer, Excavator, Dozer, and other miscellaneous equipment.
  • Ensuring the safety of all persons, equipment, property, and utilities in the area while operating equipment.
  • Adhering to all safety regulations and reporting any violations to field supervision immediately.
  • Mobilizing equipment being operated, including loading, unloading, securing, set up and tear down.
  • Ensuring that all equipment, vehicles, and tools are properly accounted for, used for correct purpose and are maintained.
  • Serving as backup to other positions at the direction of management.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
