About The Position

Branscome is hiring a Heavy Equipment Operator for its Construction / Grading department in Hampton Roads. The role operates heavy equipment to move and level materials such as dirt, sand, and stone, supporting site grading and underground storm pipe installation. The operator is expected to follow all safety policies and procedures and perform other duties as assigned. The listed duties are not exhaustive and may be supplemented. A high school diploma is preferred. Candidates should have 3–5 years of experience operating dozers and excavators for site grading and underground storm pipe installations. OSHA and/or MSHA certification is a plus. The role requires the ability to read and interpret grade elevations and stakeout, as well as a valid driver’s license in good standing. Responsibilities

Spread dirt in fill areas.
Perform rough and fine grade operations.
Excavate for underground storm pipe installation.
Read slope stakes.
Cut and fill slopes and/or designated construction areas to job specifications.
Direct trucks and equipment where to off-load, stock, or spread material loads.
Dress and clean up the job at completion.
Water, oil, grease, service, and make normal operating adjustments to equipment.
Operate equipment in a safe and consistent manner.
Follow all safety policies and procedures.
Perform other duties deemed necessary or assigned.
