About The Position
EMR is hiring a Heavy Equipment Operator for its Port Allen depot. The role involves operating excavators to move and process metal, inspecting and maintaining equipment, and following safety protocols in an outdoor, fast-paced recycling environment. Operators work in all weather conditions and may support the team with additional duties as needed. Required personal protective equipment includes steel-toe boots, safety glasses, a hard hat, high-visibility gear, and ear protection. The work environment may involve exposure to dust, fumes, and noise.
Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in varying weather conditions.
- Strong work ethic, teamwork skills, and ability to multitask.
- Must pass a background check, physical, and drug screening.
- Wear required PPE, including steel-toe boots, safety glasses, a hard hat, high-visibility gear, and ear protection.

- Previous experience with material handling and excavators.
