Heavy Equipment Operator - Landfill

About The Position

Operates a wide variety of heavy equipment vehicles to spread and compact construction demolition materials, soil remediation materials, and commercial and residential waste at post-collection facilities and/or job sites. The operator works closely with other team members and follows safety protocols to complete projects efficiently while minimizing risks. This is a safety-sensitive role requiring strict compliance with safety rules and protocols. The successful candidate may be subject to drug and alcohol testing, including pre-employment screening, post-incident evaluations, reasonable-suspicion checks, and random testing, in accordance with government regulations and company policies. The position operates in both indoor garage, shop, or gas plant conditions and outdoor conditions, including inclement weather, heat, and humidity. The listed shift options are 3 AM–12 PM or 11 AM–9 PM.

Requirements

No education is required.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must be legally eligible to work in the country where the position is located.
Must be proficient at an intermediate level in operating the minimum equipment required for site operations. Equipment may include tipper, ADTs, compactors (excluding on-grade outside-slope construction), wheel loader, and small equipment such as skid steers, tractors, and water trucks.
A valid driver's license may be required upon hire.

One year of previous heavy equipment operating experience.

Responsibilities

Operate heavy equipment in compliance with company operating safety policies and procedures.
Conduct routine equipment inspections and minor preventive maintenance, and maintain accurate records.
Move and position raw materials and finished components using material-moving equipment.
Follow standard operating procedures for operating and maintaining vehicles.
Perform other duties as assigned.
