About The Position
Berg Construction is accepting applications for experienced Heavy Equipment Operators for current projects. The company is an excavation and site work contractor serving residential, commercial, government, waste management, golf course, and asphalt paving projects. Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in heavy civil excavation.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Pleasant and professional demeanor with internal and external customers.
- Ability to follow a task through to completion.
- Ability to handle, feel, or operate objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and perform the listed physical activities, including standing, walking, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
- Close, distance, color, and peripheral vision; depth perception; and ability to adjust focus.
- Dress appropriately for outdoor work, including boots, long pants, and provisions for working in hot, cold, dry, or wet conditions.
- Ability to lift or move 25 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds occasionally.
Responsibilities
- Operate construction equipment for loading, hauling, and unloading equipment, materials, and supplies.
- Operate jackhammers, mowers, brush chippers, and other small equipment and tools.
- Assist the crew with digging ditches and trenches, hoisting materials, tools, and equipment, and related work.
- Inspect and perform preventive maintenance on assigned equipment, report defects or repair needs to the supervisor, and clean equipment.
- Assist with installing and maintaining traffic control devices.
- Plow snow and salt roads and walkways according to policy.
- Perform duties in accordance with applicable safety and security standards.
- Perform other tasks as required by management.
