Clean Harbors’ Project Services Group is hiring traveling Heavy Equipment Operators to operate a variety of heavy and construction equipment at Clean Harbors facilities or customer locations. Equipment includes bulldozers, compactors, excavators, loaders, screeners, graders, dump trucks, water trucks, and other equipment. The role also requires manual labor as needed to keep projects moving and compliance with health and safety practices. The position is based across the contiguous United States and requires approximately 95–100% travel. The typical rotation is six weeks working on a project, including weekends as needed and without returning home on weekends, followed by one paid week at home. Travel expenses are covered, and flying is generally required unless the project is local. Per diem is available while traveling, with individual accommodations in a single-occupancy room with a kitchenette. Work may involve any shift, including day, second, and graveyard shifts. Prevailing wages and overtime may be available depending on the job site. This is physically demanding work in varied site conditions, potentially including steep slopes and rugged terrain. Employees may walk several miles per day, lift up to 50 pounds unassisted, wear personal protective equipment, and perform a range of physical tasks. Clean Harbors offers health benefits after 30 days of full-time employment, a company-matched 401(k), paid time off, company-paid training, tuition reimbursement, and advancement opportunities.
