About The Position

We are currently seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator for a full-time, permanent position reporting to the Site Services Supervisor. This role involves operating a range of surface equipment, executing daily plans, and ensuring safe, compliant operations in alignment with environmental and site standards. The Keno Hill mine, located within the Keno Hill Silver District in Canada’s Yukon Territory, is one of the highest-grade silver districts in the world. It comprises 242 square kilometres (km2) with numerous mineral deposits and more than 35 historical past-producing mine sites. Keno Hill is expected to produce ~3 million ounces of silver in 2026. The mine is owned and operated by Hecla Mining Company, headquartered in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Established in 1891, Hecla has a rich history as a distinguished and respected precious metals producer. Requirements

Valid Class 1A Driver’s License.
5-7 years experience operating similar equipment.
Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner.
Ability to understand and follow instructions.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Willingness to work in a team environment.
Pre-Employment Testing (drug & alcohol, blood lead, and audiogram)
Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
Clean Driver’s Abstract

Responsibilities

Ability to run a variety of pieces of surface equipment, i.e. Rock Truck, Loader, Packer, Water Truck, Dump Truck, Lime Truck, Vac Truck, Excavator, Dozer, Lowboy haulage and Grader.
Communicate with shift supervision to achieve daily plans and activities.
Carry out activities while being mindful of environmental impacts.
Ensure adherence to all applicable regulations, codes, and corporate/site standard operating procedures.
Maintain valid Class 1A Driver’s License.
Other duties may be assigned.

Ensuring that plant and equipment operate within their safe working limits.
Ensuring that correct equipment is used for the job.
Participating in risk assessment methodology.
Participating in safety initiatives.
Receiving training and instruction as required.
