Heavy Equipment Operator III-Water
About The Position
Operates and services heavier construction equipment used in water and wastewater maintenance and new construction, including backhoes greater than five feet, dump trucks, front-end loaders, skid steers, excavators, valve trucks, volumetric concrete mixers, haul trucks, and comparable equipment. The position also operates mechanical attachments and vehicle equipment, operates pickups and other light equipment when assigned, and performs related duties as directed. This role has close contact with, or control of, Critical Infrastructure components and is subject to extensive background checks and random drug screening. A physical exam is required.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent, plus two years of progressive experience operating any of the equipment listed in the job description; or a combination of relevant education and experience that provides the required qualifications.
- Texas Commercial Driver License (CDL), Class A.
- Pass a physical exam.
- Knowledge of the operation and maintenance of heavy motorized equipment typically used for water and wastewater construction, maintenance, and new construction.
- Ability to operate heavy equipment skillfully and safely.
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
- Subject to extensive background checks and random drug screening due to close contact with, or control of, Critical Infrastructure components.
Responsibilities
- Operate backhoes greater than five feet, dump trucks, front-end loaders, skid steers, excavators, valve trucks, volumetric concrete mixers, and comparable construction equipment.
- Operate mechanical attachments and equipment on vehicles.
- Operate pickups and other light equipment when assigned.
- Perform maintenance and service work on trucks and heavy equipment.
- Make field repairs.
- Perform related duties as directed.
