About The Position

Safely operates various light and heavy equipment in a hazardous waste treatment processing facility or landfill. The role supports waste handling and treatment operations, including unloading waste, stabilizing and processing materials, sampling treated materials, and preparing cleared materials for shipment or disposal. It also involves preventative equipment maintenance and general housekeeping.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of related experience.
• Currently hold a 40-hour HAZWOPER certification with an 8-hour refresher, or be able to pass the course upon hire; this is required only for Environmental Solutions lines of business.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of light and heavy equipment operation.
• Ability to use applicable hand and power tools.
• Knowledge of basic vehicle inspection and maintenance, including checking tire pressure and oil and water levels.
• Accuracy, thoroughness, and attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize, stay focused, and handle multiple, diverse responsibilities.
• A valid driver's license may be required for some positions.

Responsibilities

• Assist in off-loading trucks and unloading waste.
• Operate equipment to stabilize and handle waste.
• Process treatment of materials and containers.
• Sample post-treated materials for laboratory testing.
• Load cleared post-treatment materials for shipment to a landfill or disposal.
• Perform general preventative maintenance on equipment and general housekeeping.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
