About The Position

The Heavy Equipment Operator safely operates light and heavy equipment in a hazardous waste treatment processing facility or landfill. The role supports waste handling and treatment, material sampling and shipment, and routine equipment maintenance and housekeeping.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of related experience.
• Currently hold a 40-hour HAZWOPER certification with an 8-hour refresher, or be able to pass the course upon hire; this is required only for Environmental Solutions lines of business.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of light and heavy equipment operation.
• Ability to use applicable hand and power tools.
• Knowledge of basic vehicle inspection and maintenance, including checking tire pressure and oil and water levels.
• Accuracy, thoroughness, and attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize, stay focused, and handle multiple diverse responsibilities.
• A valid driver’s license may be required for some positions.

Responsibilities

• Assist in off-loading trucks and unloading waste.
• Operate equipment to stabilize and handle waste.
• Process treatment of materials and containers.
• Sample post-treated materials for laboratory testing.
• Load cleared post-treatment materials for shipment to a landfill or disposal.
• Perform general preventative maintenance on equipment and general housekeeping.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
